I found a list of all the GCC locations that were left when they were for sale... I'll post it later when I get a chance, it probably duplicates an earlier listing but it makes me giddy because the list includes their internal theatre numbers. [Smile]

Oh no -- I just mean the business unit number that they were referred to internally. The thing that they probably had to identify themselves by when they called corporate because there were just too damned many of them.

Only three GCC locations in socal are still open from the AMC merger: Avco 4, Galleria 16 and the Pacific Sherman Oaks 5 which I love with the balcony auditoriums.

I forgot that the Fallbrook 10 now the Laemelle Fallbrook 7 is still open. Originally a 7 plex GCC expanded it to 10 screens only to close it after AMC Promenade stole all the business.

Two of the 4 General Cinema locations in New Jersey are now "AMC Dine In Theatres". They are the AMC Dine-In Bridgewater, and AMC Dine In Essex Green. The third location, AMC Dine In Menlo Park, was a Cineplex Odeon theatre that replaced the Cinema I & II Menlo Park.

The 4th General Cinema location in NJ, Deptford Mall 6, shares management with the AMC Deptford 8 Theatre.

I miss the old GCC circuit. The 70's AVCO in Westwood is the essential theatre from that decade and the remodel splitting the big screen killed it. Back in its day it was a classy theatre.

I was still pretty damn impressed when I saw a movie in one of the upstairs theatres. I'm sure if parking weren't an issue they might've split it three more times back in the days of chopping.

Yeah, the upstairs Avco theatres are also terrific screens. I patronized the Avco quite often back in its day. It was always a pleasure to see a film there.

Walnut Mall 3: Philadelphia (Opened 1975. Also operated by Budco Theatres, AMC Theatres, and CineMagic Theatres. Today, it's vacant. Diagonally across the street from Rave University City 6 [AKA National Amusements The Bridge: Cinema De Lux], which is built on the site of Eric 3 On The Campus Theatre)
