The Princess Theatre has reopened as a live stage and movie venue this August 24. The building was constructed in 1887 and was converted toi a theater in 1914. It closed in 1985. Extensive repairs and renovation were required to make the building useable again. Go to DesMoinesRegister.com to click on photo gallery. The renovated theater has 117 brand new seats. A 10 x 18 screen rotates out of view for stage productions. Hope to get further info shortly
