Everett Riverfront announces Cinetopia as first tenant
The Everett Riverfront, a unique mixed-use development along the Snohomish River, proudly announces Cinetopia, a luxury 16-screen movie theater and entertainment complex, as the first tenant to join the project. The development combines a new and distinctive community of destination-driven retail, restaurants, hotel, office space, condominiums and natural amenities such as tree-lined walking and bike trails, natural wildlife habitats and gorgeous riverfront views of Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier and the Cascade Mountain range, making it the region’s premiere destination for working, shopping, dining and living.
Cinetopia supersedes all current movie going standards and amenities offered in the Northwest by providing a variety of high-end entertainment options under one roof. All theaters, including the one of a kind Living Room Theater with box seating and the Grand Auditorium, offer Digital Super High Definition projectors with greater resolution than any other theater, as well as superior seating and deluxe audio equipment. In addition to the high tech luxury theaters, Cinetopia features an art gallery, tropical garden, restaurant and wine bar. Guests can buy a bottle, glass or one ounce pour from a selection of more than 100 different wines featuring, Leonetti, Chateau Margaux and Penfolds Grange. Guests will also have the opportunity to interact with a fully-automated system that educates patrons about the different wines.
“Cinetopia sets the tone for the future development of the riverfront,” said Ray Stephanson, Mayor of the City of Everett. “Just like this development, Cinetopia is a distinctive, destination-quality attraction.”
The Everett Riverfront development, opening in the summer of 2010, will be a 225-acre development showcasing 450,000 square feet of retail and extraordinary frontage along the Snohomish River. Offering the region the opportunity for a one-of-a-kind experience all within the artistry of nature, the Everett Riverfront will have direct access from a new four-way interchange connected to Interstate 5.
World class developer OliverMcMillan, based in San Diego, Calif., was selected from seven national development firms for this project. The Glen Town Center in Glenview, Ill. and the Uptown District in San Diego, Calif. give OliverMcMillan national recognition for their experience in mixed-use design and strong architectural vision.
“The Everett Riverfront is our perfect location because like Cinetopia it will be a one of a kind destination offering the Seattle area a unique shopping, dining and recreational experience,” said Rudyard Coltman, owner and operator of Cinetopia. “Many visitors of our current location in Vancouver, Wash., drive from the Seattle area and I am happy to bring Cinetopia closer to them.”
Located 25 minutes north of Seattle, Everett is the sixth largest city in Washington, with an estimated population of 101,800 (2007) and a projected average family income in 2009 of $74,060. It is a bayside community, home to Boeing, United States Naval Station Everett, Kimberly Clark, Intermec, Fluke and Stockpot Soups along with many more. Everett’s performing arts center, the proposed innovative ArtSpace education center, the Everett Events Center, Everett Station and the Everett Riverfront development are making the area increasingly dynamic for residents, visitors and tourists.
