I am a new member to this site. I worked as a Film Projectionist for Local 150 for 25 years. Being semi-disabled I spend time on the PC finding sites which show theatres I worked. I have created personal files with photos of over 150 theatres which i worked. I cannot find pictures of several theatres I worked in Beverly Hills. I need help finding the STANLEY WARNER'S BEVERLY, LOEW'S BEVERLY, the BEVERLY CANON and the MUSIC HALL. I also need the FOX VAN NUYS and the CANOGA DRIVE-IN in Canoga Park. I would appreciate help in finding these 6 theatres Thanks, JOHN D.

Hi John

The Vagabond Theatre is no where near Beverly Hills, its down near the old Westlake Theatre. Its one block west of MacArthur Park on Wilshire Blvd.
I worked for Local 150 and worked the Warner Beverly Hills and the Music Hall and Vagabond Theatres.

MR.GABEL: I PROBABLY GOT THE VAGABOND CONFUSED IN MY MIND. PERHAPS, I WAS THINKING IT WAS NEAR THE FINE ARTS AT LA CIENEGA WHICH I UNDERSTAND CLOSED RECENTLY. I NOW REMEMBER THAT IT WAS A LITTLE HOUSE ACROSS FROM A BIG HOTEL NEAR WESTLAKE PARK. THE THEATRE CHANGED NAMES DECADES AGO. I WORKED THERE IN 1969 BRIEFLY AND I BELIEVE THE NAME HAD ALREADY CHANGED. WERE YOU AN OPERATOR IN LOCAL 150? IF SO, WHEN? JOHN D.

I was around from 1980's thru 2000 with 150.

On or near Wilshire Blvd. in Beverly Hills.

Loew's Beverly (later GCC)
Warner Beverly Hills (later Pacific)
Canon (near Wilshire)
Music Hall
Doheny Plaza (WGA Theatre)
Fox Fine Arts (later Mann/Laemmle/AMC/Landmark)
Fox Wilshire (later Mann)

Down Wilshire Blvd. going East

Fox Carthay Circle (near Wilshire)
Fox El Rey (later Mann)
Fox Ritz
UA Four Star
Warners Wiltern (later Pacific)
Vagabond
Fox Westlake (near Wilshire)(later Metropolitan)

That's the Vagabond Theatre. 400 seats not even it seated less than that.
