On my third viewing of Return of the King at Loews Theatres, I noticed that the image appeared to be blueer than the previous two shows I saw at AMC. The change was consistent throughout the entire movie, it looked like the image had a warmer color temperature than before. As I haven't visited this theatre in several years, I can't say for sure if this is a routine problem there (I don't remember that being the case). I've never heard of an entire print being off in color, so I'm guessing something was odd with the lamp in their projector? Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could hazard a guess as to the cause?

When I first read the thread topic "Slightly Blue, ROTK" I immediatly assumed (incorrectly thank god) that the poster had a hankerin for some hobbit-lovin, or perhaps spotted some subliminal elf or orc nudity that one of Pete Jacksons minions managed to insert. Well since that wasn't the point, if not the bulb, which probably is the case, maybe the lens or port glass, or perhaps the theatre staff was taking a "smoke" break in the booth and left the doors closed. Have you gone back to that screen to see if the print de-colorised?

This was at Loews Monmouth Mall 15 in Eatontown, NJ. I haven't had a chance to return to the theatre, and as I'm back in MA now probably won't for a while...
