Googie architecture could best be described as a futuristic art deco and was very popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

See here for more.

Hey Adam how's the caching up going?

I had resent my trip photos of theaters from eastern Oregon, eastern Washington, and the panhandle of Idaho including Coeur d'Alene and sandpoint
a few months ago and just noticed that they have not shown up yet, also I sent you over the new info on the BODO project underway in Boise.

Hope you get a chance to add the photos of the mostly historic theaters I shot on my trip.

thanks James

I spoke to Adam a bit today. He's been forced to fly the friendly skies while battling an awful awful flu. So he's not in any mood to update.

However, I know that he's updated a lot of listings recently and until he got sick I think he was in a good groove of steadily attacking the "To Do" folders in his inbox.

In the meantime James... why don't you tease us with a pic or two. Start a thread in thread in the Cinemas & Theatres section and just upload 1 or 2 small pics. [Smile] Remember -- just one or two, don't upset Adam in his medicated haze. [Razz]

Whatever it is you took for that flu... I think it might've been a big stronger than you needed.

It looks like a bigger job than we mortals can comprehend. Some of my pictures from 18 months ago just got posted, They need to be sorted and in some cases reformatted before showing up on site. I have held back on sending pictures for a while, but will now send some that I have filed ro re-fill the In-box. It appears that sending groups of pictures related to the same location eases cataloguing, and captions help also.
My question: what formats and sizes are easiest to work with? We often have a choice when scanning,

James, be patient! My photos from 6 months ago have yet to appear on the site, but my photos from last month have been up for a couple of weeks. What I'm saying is resending won't help. They will get up when they get up.
