I found this article. While a lot of it is already known, this part stands out as to who may be the next to run the former Magic Johnson:

Lombard said he is looking for a company to run the theater when it reopens, and AMC already has shown interest in returning.

A friend told me this weekend that AMC attempted to sell the location and apparently in one case tried to give it away, but no one would take it over.

The L.A. Business Journal is correct in saying that there were at one time six Magic Johnson theatres, but errs in reporting that closing the L.A. location leaves four of them open. In fact, including L.A., four have closed, although one (Atlanta) has since reopened without the MJ mark. The MJ locations in Houston and Cleveland are also gone. Only the Harlem and suburban DC theatres still operate under the Magic Johnson name.

I drove by this theater tonight and the lights are on inside and you can look inside the empty building.

Is the same theatre going to be used by Rave or are they building an all new complex?
